The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is grateful for the €4 million contribution from the Italian government to expand the school feeding program with locally grown food, support climate-smart agriculture and sustainable school meals, and connect schools with local farmers in the Chikwawa district of Malawi.
The funding will enable WFP to provide daily nutritious meals to 20,800 children in seventeen primary schools in Chikwawa and support the national school feeding program, which reaches more than 800,000 children across Malawi.
