Participants are also trained in gardening and receive tools and seeds to create their own gardens at home.
The project aims to protect and promote healthy eating, providing services and best practices to optimally support the nutrition, growth, and development of children, adolescents, and women through simple and sustainable initiatives.
The vegetable garden, for example, will ensure a continuous supply of fresh, nutritious produce, thus offering greater variety in children’s diets.
“The goal is to ensure that every family has a small garden with enough vegetables to feed their children healthily.”
Khalid Tahir, Nutrition Specialist at UNICEF
