Making roads safer for everyone: last May, during the United Nations Global Road Safety Week, TotalEnergies launched “1Casque, 1Vie” with an initial deployment in Togo.
This initiative aims to provide 100,000 motorcycle helmets in line with the strictest safety guidelines across 40 countries in three continents (Africa, Asia and the Americas).
This distribution is joined by a unique road safety awareness programme geared towards two-wheeled motor vehicles.
This also contributes to the goals of the Global Safe & Affordable Helmet Campaign, deployed by Jean Todt, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety.
The “1Casque, 1Vie” initiative is therefore primarily aimed at areas where the majority of the population does not have access to quality helmets at affordable prices.
TotalEnergies Marketing Senegal is launching the operation today, through which it will further strengthen its commitment to road safety across the country by:
• providing quality helmets for drivers of two-wheeled motor vehicles in order to participate in the prevention of deaths and/or serious injuries to them during road traffic accidents;
• actively raising awareness among drivers (both private and professional individuals) about wearing protective equipment, as well as risky situations, vehicle maintenance and how to respect traffic rules.
